Setting a New Course for Rochester

The election in November of 2022 will be a major inflection point for the city of Rochester. Something is amiss and we all sense it. Beyond the closed businesses and bike lanes, it is the loss of kindness and respect that everyone feels. In the upcoming election, we will have a choice between organic, local leadership that will listen to all citizens and partisan elites who act like they know best. The stakes are high and now is the time for action. It is not too late to pause and take into account what has happened in the last ten years. It has been painful to watch Rochester chase after every new trend and fad. I am not running to win “awards” or pad my resume. I am a citizen standing up for Rochester citizens. I want us to feel good about living here. I want our children and grandchildren to have the same shot at prosperity that we had. My goal is a return to local decision making and common sense. Hard work and merit built Rochester, not the dogmatic rigidity of the consultant class or the utopian dreams of progressive non-profit foundations. There is still time to set a course that will take us away from minneapolization and dystopia. We have something uniquely good here in Rochester and we should try to keep it. The Mayo brothers planted their dreams here. My loyalty is to Rochester and her citizens. I am one of you. This is my hometown too. It is where I am raising my children. It is where my parents raised me; where my grandparents raised my parents. I love this city and want to see it flourish. Together, we can reach a new golden era. We can have growth and evolution and still stay Rochester in essence. In fact, to be successful, we must. Rochester can feel like home.

Three Key Challenges Facing Our City

  • Public Safety: Enforce our laws and give our police the training, technology and personnel they need to complete their mission. With crime on the rise, I will boldly support our police department. Now is the time to vote for the security of our city.
  • DMC: DMC must not be a strategic plan with no tactical flexibility.  With the advent of telemedicine and telecommuting, much of the original DMC plan may no longer be applicable. Because it is not delivering on its promises and is supplanting our local culture, we must re-imagine DMC.
  • Partisanship: Our city government has not been staying true to its non-partisan nature. We must never prioritize the goals of partisan special interests and foundations over serving the common good of the people. Bitter partisanship will not solve our problems. We must focus on common ground issues like public safety, beautiful parks and infrastructure that works efficiently.

On Tuesday, August 9, 2022 Vote for Britt Noser for Mayor in the Primary Election!
